The Practice
Benson Architecture LLC is a continuation of Lowell Benson’s solo architectural practice that was established in 1999. The office is located in Fort Myers, FL, in the Fort Myers River District and the firm serves Lee, Charlotte, and Collier counties.
One focus for the past twelve years has been remodeling, additions, and rehab of existing homes and small commercial buildings. We also produce new construction projects of course.
A giant company we are not. Rather, it is a small practice whose size allows it to give personalized attention to each client and project.
The Staff

The staff consists primarily of Lowell Benson (this is a tight ship), who has over thirty years of experience as an architect in Southwest Florida. Prior to establishing his own practice, he was employed at large local firms, designing and managing projects ranging from condominiums and timeshares to offices, schools, and historic rehab. He was the design architect for one unusual rehab, the reuse of the city water plant into the Imaginarium Children’s Museum, which won a local AIA design award.
His architectural degree is from University of Miami, tops in the state (sorry Gators). Other training includes state certification in disaster assessment of buildings. Let's hope that is never needed.
